Deal with India to ensure "nuclear safeguards"? Anyone heard of this?
This is all the info I have -- just the end of an article about Hagel, Biden and Kerry going to Pakistan for the elections.

I hadn't heard of this deal - have you? If you "get it" (I don't) should we be concerned that it's 'dead in the water'?

"Biden also said a U.S. deal to ship civilian nuclear technology and fuel to India in return for nuclear safeguards appears to be "dead in the water."

3. Thanks - this deal can be very confusing
It is presented to the public very differently in the U.S. and India.
Indians are very proud of their nuclear weapons and want more.
So in India, it is presented as not restricting their ability to make and test weapons.
But in the U.S., Congress and citizens are concerned about proliferation, so it is presented as not allowing nuclear proliferation.
