Bride Dies During First Dance
http://www.insideedition.com/news.aspx?storyID=1302

Sixty disbelieving guests looked on as 36-year-old Kimberly Efkarpides crumpled during the first dance at her wedding reception and died of a heart attack in her new husband's arms.

The day had started out perfectly for Kimberly. A first grade teacher from Fort Lauderdale, Florida, Kimberly dreamed her big day would be a real-life re-enactment of the joyous wedding scene from her favorite movie, My Big, Fat Greek Wedding. She watched the movie while friends did her hair and makeup.

Down the aisle, Kimberly wore a crystal tiara and carried white and blue flowers.

As the couple said their vows, the groom's voice choked with emotion. But their happy union would last only minutes.

Wow, I feel sorry for her, but just wondering when I am going to be able to be given the right to die when im getting married.. See folks, gay people CANT get married...... Ill be less caustic and more sympathetic when im given the same rights as YOU.

1. This made me cry when I first read about it.
How terribly sad for her groom. Can you imagine?

7. Yes, that's also very sad.
I believe someday that will change. I truly do believe that. People are less bigoted than they used to be.

9. But the gay crap is coming from you.
That poor woman you hate so much never did anything to you.

Fortunately, my support for gay marriage is rooted in my love for a friend who will never be married, but should have had that right. He and his partner showed me what love should be. I will never forget what I learned from them. So no heartless stupidity from bitter fools is going to change my position.

I hope that's true for everyone who comes in contact with your spew.

13. That's pretty standard fare from our self-styled DU "Ruiner".
He fancies himself a TROLL, but he just doesn't have the smarts
to pull it off.

18. Sorry ruiner
I don't think this tragedy is fodder for a political debate on gay marriage.

This couple doesn't stop you or me from getting married.

5. this tragedy has not a thing to to with glbt marriage rights
(which is a tragedy in itself )

though i feel that using something like this to further an agenda is just plain wrong

6. actually it does...
when any unbalanced person can get married and cause a tragedy it shows how sad our society is when a percent-able normal block can NOT get married..

so yeah, this is about gblt rights since the gblt community have no rights.

14. How exactly was this woman "unbalanced"?
She was 36 years old and had undiagnosed heart disease.

Nice to see that you demand understanding and compassion, but you can't extend it to anyone else.

16. I've taken the responsibility of reporting this thread to the administratiors...
This thread has absolutely NOTHING to do with advancing the issues of the GLBT community.

In fact, I would be embarrassed to be utilizing these tactics to advance ANY agenda.

The only individual that comes off as 'unhinged' and 'unbalanced' is you sir.

17. So you think it appropriate to exploit this tragedy?
I support your efforts for gays and lesbians to marry. That does not extend to expropriating every tragedy that occurs to highlight your own issue.

I do not support such insensitivity.

My sympathies to both of them.

Shame on anyone for using this to push some tangentially related "issue".

But frankly this is a really morbid way to make your point. Very bad taste IMO.

25. No, you know...
I showed this to all my conservative Greek relatives who are mostly against (or indifferent to) gay marriage. And you know what? It turned them all around. They're 100 percent queer nation activists now.

Ruiner indeed!

27. How incredibly sad.
And by the way, you do your cause more harm than good when you attempt to leverage someone else's totally unrelated tragedy in a lame attempt to advance it. Shame on you.
