I hope the US and EU who support the Kosovo secessionist movement can deal with secessionists in their own countries.

3. let the Kosovars and Serbs sort this out diplomatically

without having the US and EU sticking their noses where it doesn't belong. Everyone remembers what happened when Croatia declared independence, and Germany immediately recognized them before the Yugoslav central government could even react. Outside powers getting involved in a delicate internal situation like this is only going to stir up resentment from one side, or both.
