6. One thing about DU is if you hang out here for very long one has a tendency to pick up on what is
and what is not the truth, seems as if we get enough bullpucky from our press. I finally had to turn cnn off, msnbc too because I got tired of hearing the same ole, most times lie over and over again. Hell I think sometimes I was hearing some of the bull so much as to start questioning what I already knew to be true. The greats, Keith Obermann and Bill Moyers are my only on-air sources for info now. I like it much better this way :-)
Hope you're having a great day

4. How soon we forget.
Everyone loved Lieberman at the time. They wished we could pick from Lieberman or Cheney instead of Bush and Gore. Remember?

There were lot's of reasons someone else was installed. You could start with 5 supreme court justices (I use the word extremely loosely).

please never forget that 'in effect' bush is president,
but the reality is bush is just a petty thief (stealing candy from a baby)

11. Nader. He campaigned in Florida for weeks leading up to the election.
Less than one half of one percent of 90,000+ Florida voters could have made the difference.

17. No.
Nader did not cause the stolen votes that would more than have put Gore over the top.

22. Actually he did. Rove fucked up and didn't steal enough votes.
Luckily, Nader was in Florida. Fighting for George W. Bush.

weekend. They prepared. They didn't just get a Buchanen win in Democrat land because people changed their mind at the last minute - the voters used poorly designed butterfly ballots that may have been designed with intent. They didn't just decide how and where to hide voting machines causing people to not wait to vote on one machine. They didn't just obstruct roads to precincts and tell Black Americans to go on the wrong day or to the wrong place at the last minute. They planned that theft and it was nicely coordinated.

The only probable last minute plan was the flight from Washington carrying Republican operatives who pretended to be Miami-Date County residents - who created a little door pounding episonde at a county building to stop the recount. Don't forget what went on there. No, it was planned.

However, knowing what we know about Leiberman now, it makes you wonder if he ever reported anything to a Republican buddy that affected the strategy.

Don't forget that the press and Democrats conducted a ridicule exercise. Democrat energy was directed at Gore to quit instead of at Republicans. And I seem to remember that some DLC people thought he was embarassing the Party by fighting.

Now, if you want to link Leiberman with DLC, I can't fight that.

15. Selection of Lieberman raised the question of judgment
When a man makes such a spectacularly bad choice as his first major decision in the campaign, it can really dampen the enthusiasm.
