1. That's why I quit tuning in.
Seven years ago this month, when I separated from my last husband. He was a confirmed tv and radio news junkie, so I saw and heard it all. When I didn't live with him any more, I simply never turned it on again. Ok, I turned on tv news once. Once, because my oldest son called and told me to, and then yelled at me when I refused. So I turned it on, watched for 10 minutes, and turned it off. That was on September 11, 2001, and I haven't watched or listened since.

I read newspapers and online news sources. I read them with a critical view towards media bias. I seek out alternative non-mainstream sources to balance the stories given in mainstream press.

I'm as informed as everyone else, except for "what __________said on ______________." I don't care what ___________ said.

Russert...I did watch a few primary debates, early in the season. Isn't he the jerk that asked the ufo question?

11. I think "invertigrates" is a rather charming neologism. It may have some potential.
;)

7. To call them invertebrates is an insult to all spineless creatures
Invertebrates at least have a function in the environment.

8. I noticed a long, long time ago
but only tuned out for good on November 4, 2004.

The only news I've seen since then is a snippet or two on the local station if I've tuned in too early to catch the weather. The weather is the only thing that has a chance of being right, other than the sports scores.
