OK, so Little Boots and his war toys wants to play Star Wars
and shoot down a satellite. I just heard on MSNBC news that the object is to break the satellite in to pieces--not clear as to whether they would stay in orbit or fall to the earth. Now, they obviously are assuming that this stunt works. What happens if they miss and the missile just arcs and hits another nation? What are the chances that something this could happen?

4. Something really stinks about this entire issue
We may never find out what the real deal is like just about everything else . None of it makes sense to me . There are alot of questions that will never be asked . I read somewhere that this thing has not been up there very long .

6. This strikes me as a really bad idea.
If the missile hits its mark, it's likely to throw shrapnel that could stay in low-earth orbit for years. Even a speck of paint is like a bullet when it's traveling at tens of thousands of miles per hour.

At least they're waiting until the Shuttle finishes its mission, and the space station is in an orbit that is something like 60 miles higher. But other satellites and maybe even other manned missions could be at risk because of this stunt.
