My child gave his 5.00 dollars Sunday allowance to a homeless person
Eating at a local restaurant a homeless man enter the door and start asking for money to get something to eat. My child looked into his little pants packets and found his 5 dollar bill from his Sunday allowance, with his little hands gave it to the man. When I look at him, my son toll me -I don't need the money today-

1. You need to write a parenting book. Great job teaching your son
about helping others instead of helping himself. What a selfless, wonderfull little boy!

3. What an angel - and he has learned that love from you.
I'm not a Christian, but one of the most meaningful quotes attributed to Jesus was "what you do unto the least of my brethren..."

I try to live that - and your son inspires me.

Tell him I'm his biggest fan (besides you, of course!)

6. I once read an old, published collection of letters
In which mother wrote that what she hoped for her child was, that after he was gone, his community would be glad he had lived amongst them. Looks like you're rearing one of those.

11. Your son is a true mensch!
And you should get Nanchas from his selfless act! Bravo! I admire both you and your son!

As for if you are worrying if the homeless man used the money to get food, like he said, or did something else with it... such as getting something less nutritious, like buying drugs or liquor... well, that is HIS Karma. Don't worry... you and your son did the right thing by giving without expecting or asking anything in return.

14. I hope that's a moment you treasure forever
and I hope he continues in that vein. Actions more like that and less like capitalism run amok, may well save our species.

16. What a wonderful story, I know exactly how you feel
when my daughter was in 4th grade, she asked me for money to buy 2 roses for the last day of school. She gave one to her teacher and gave one to the person who cleaned the school. Later when my daughter had a cleaning job, where she said no one "sees" her. I reminded her how proud I was when she saw the goodness of the people she gave roses to.

Congratulations!

How is he ever gonna turn into a God-fearing Republican if you permit him to waste good money on non-persons like that?

28. My son sometimes gets 50cents to ride on the little rides outside of the stores
He's only 3.. this year during Christmas, he put it in the Santa Pot. I was so proud.. I asked him: Do you want to ride on the little ride or do you want to put it in the Santa Pot.. Everytime he put it in the pot... Its moments like those that you realize the world doesn't have to be so damned screwed up.

40. Such a better use for the money
Because obviously the churches weren't helping the man.

And besides, your son was following the message of Christ explicitly.

41. I love that. Mine are like that, too
And that's a very good thing.

Restores your hope for the future, doesn't it?

I'm sure you made him feel like a hero, too, right? The more we encourage generosity, the better, I think!
