Economist George: We need more war and fewer houses.
He and the First Lump In The Bed were interviewed by NBC's Ann Curry while in Tanzania this morning. Curry did an excellent job of currying favor with the right, asking all the right questions for The Bush Family's Embarrassment to 'field' for national consumption.

"How goes the wedding planning?"

"Heh heh heh heh. I got advice for other fathers of the bride: ask your wife. Heh heh heh."

She did a voice over of some clip of the Monkey in the Man Suit and his mate giving out mosquito netting to children. "Down here, President Bush has achieved rock star status." (Okay, that one brought up some bile for me. But hey .... I watch so you don't have to.)

But the killer came in larger discussion of the presidential campaign. Something about McCain asking that the Bush boy fund raise for his, but stay off the stump. Curry asked if this bothered Bush.

"Blah, blah, blah"

"But don't you think that American's, being worried about the economy, might be feeling some sacrifice for the war?"

"Anne, the economy really is sound at the fundamentals. In fact, the real problem is we have too many houses. But the war might even be good. It keeps people employed."

**************

I can't even find words any more to describe how much I hate these people.

I hate them to a level I never thought myself capable.

For seven plus years I have been learning how to *really* hate.

I am an expert at hating the party and the people that have stolen my country.

I hate these people.

2. WTF?
Tell me he didn't say that. Tell me the fucking President of the United States didn't say there are too many houses but the war is good because it keeps people employed.

I join you in your burning loathing.

7. But you know, that this has always been the agenda. Stimulate the flow
of wealth through the war machine. It has been this way since Korea. Democracy and apple pie is the big lie fed to the expendable masses, so that they will doubt their own decision making process.

Sure there are too many houses. You can tell because the ratio of homeless families to empty houses is not high enough yet. We need at least 10 homeless families to each empty house in order for the bankers and real estate conglomerates to be assured a marketplace that will provide a return on their investment.

Just in case,,, :sarcasm:

10. talk about being divorced from reality
we have "too many houses" and "...war might even be good. It keeps people employed."

He doesn't know any real people, does he?

Yeah, it keeps your cronies employed by giving their corporations no-bid contracts.

The man is a sociopath.

11. I believe you and the powers that be must be scrubbing it for the internet.
I guess they realized what shithead he sounds like in an interview like that. I looked all over the Today Show site, including Ann Curry's blog. I bet GE keeps it off their website. It'll have to be YouTubed.

16. Yeah, Like Rebuilding The Infrastructure
Take a look at the highway crews sometimes when a major rebuild or new ramp, or new bridge is going on. That type of work puts LOTS of folks to work in good paying jobs.

Seems like that might be a good way to drive the economy forward, rather than dropping bombs and shooting missiles.

And the benefit is immediate and tangible.
