Ann Curry does disgusting puff piece with george and laura.
Edited on Mon Feb-18-08 11:42 AM by Tom Joad
* was on the Today show, with Laura, live from Africa, puffed up by Ann Curry.

It was so disgusting. Presenting this fascist pig as a great humanitarian.
"No one suffers more than President Bush from the war in Iraq" She seemed to endorse that obscene statement.

Here is a link, but please don't watch this if there are young kids around. Or if you just ate breakfast. Or are thinking of eating in the next half-hour or so.

Antidote: Please read Norman Solomon, "War Made Easy: How Presidents and Pundits Keep Spinning Us to Death"

There is a book and a video both. Tom says check 'em out.

1. That's a perfect example of why I stopped watching that televised shrine for 'thugs.
There's only one thing worse than witnessing Ann Curry shamefully trying to paint lipstick on a pig: hearing Katie Couric's giggling & snorting when she did the same pandering for the corporations.

2. They are not called
media whores for nothing. I would not be surprised if the orders come down from the owners of the network. A reliable source has confirmed that the MSM sucks. FUGWB

3. nbc is owned by a big military contractor. General Electric. She is currying favor
(pun intended) with her bosses. My question is this: Do they at least give her knee guards? just to make her job a bit easier.

4. then again, EVERYTHING Ann Curry does is
a disgusting puff piece. I used to tolerate the Today show as a quick way to get morning news. When they started raising her profile, I swore off them for good. She's absolutely saccharine and unwatchable on every topic she covers.

5. Part of the problem, from what i saw this morning, is that she has
no brain, and is only looking at the planet through her red, white, blue prism of US mythology. she really believes this shit.

7. You're right, and when she's not spouting
the latest RW/GE talking points, she's schmaltzing it up to vomitous levels with her "how does it feel?" baloney - which feels as genuine as a $3 bill.

8. and that's why the bushies were willing to sit down with her. It is a
mutual win. good for nbc, good for bush.
you don't think bush would have sat down with Keith Olberman, or Seymour Hersh or Robert Scheer, do you?

a tragedy for our nation.

9. Bush suffers?
Somehow those two words don't sound right together. Bush has never suffered a day in his miserable, silver-spooned life. When did Bush ever attend a military funeral? Instead, he uses the military as photo-op props in the background of his speeches. During the Civil War, Abraham Lincoln left the White House and set up residence on the grounds of the Soldier's Home, where hundreds of homeless and disabled soldiers were housed. He often ate lunch in the giant dining room that accomodated over 2000 soldiers. Meanwhile, Bush pops up one time in 7 years at dinner time for soldiers and feeds them a plastic turkey.

10. Ann Curry is a waste of oxygen
She's an unbelievably banal interviewer. Whenever she gets one of these assignments I make sure not to watch it.
