Castro stepped down because we bombed and invaded Iraq....
He saw in Bush's eyes that the man meant business, and out of fear, just like when Libya got rid of their weapons programs and renounced terrorism, he stepped down. That is the type of respect that our great leader commands on the world stage. Iran and Syria, yer next. Read it and weep, libruls.

1. Shucks. I was afraid the ignorant nazis were going to try and
give credit to Boosh over this.

I'm hoping a more reasonable situation in Cuba might make relations easier for the next president.

2. Yeah we are going to hear that aren't we?
Republicans can be pretty predictable at times.

3. Many a right winger will say exactly this
never mind that the man has cancer, is dying and is making way for "clean elections" where his brother will win hands down

4. it's both funny and sad
that you know they're going to say that. And too many people will eat it up.

6. Actually ...

It was because the bastards wouldn't leave Britney alone.

Fidel got fed up and threw in the towel.

Ask and ye shall receive...

(Not much yet, but you have to give 'props' for the audacity of this response...)
"Sounds like someone finally got it right after all those bungled attempts. If true, whoever did it deserves a medal."

And here are a few isolated posts and responses from other FR-Castro threads...

"It would be good to see a brief and nasty struggle for power between the surviving commie rat-b*stards of Havana!"

"I won’t believe Castro is really done until he is dead."

"I’m still not convinced that he isn’t already dead. (and been dead since last year)
This resignation was done in writing from what I’ve read."

"What is funny is that President Bush said in his State of the Union years ago that Fidel would be gone before he left office."

"I suspect these things are scripted well ahead of events."

"The Lindsay photos are on the Drudge link." (In a Castro thread-- there's just something, I don't know-- dis jarringly funny when finding an LL post in a Castro thread on FR)

Well, I'll give our friendly Freepers points for acting precisely as Freepers do.
