While we still follow the bread and circus here
the Balkans are, as expected, I know many of you are more interested in what is going on INTERNALLY... but let;s put it this way.. when EVEN FIXED NEWS raises the specters of an alliance system reminiscent of WW I... you know things are getting serious.

Fixed news, the only news service with the DOW and why it is on here... (Me running Air America or Nova M when I can over the net... in fact was listening to BBC radio for a little while)

2. You are correct, partially
we were a smaller empire then, and we were contained to Latin America.

A gunboat diplomacy...

But the point is... even Fixed News is raising the specter of a World War... starting in the Balkans AGAIN

3. right, and we got involved then, we just weren't
pissing off quite as many people so directly back then.

I took AP European History in high school. It's been a while, and some of the confusion in the region was breaking out then, but one of the things that stuck with me - when there's fighting in the Balkans, it spreads!

4. That is a wise rule of thumb that has lasted about five hundred years
the worst of those spreading was WW I... but if you are for a heroic image, the charge of the light brigade happened there too, in the balkans

5. European news is well focused on this.
The U.S. broadcast news media has become a joke. Remember when CNN was an actual news source? Now they don't even pretend.

Serbia does seem to be caught in some sort of space-time rift of heated nationalism. Let's pray it doesn't catch the house on fire... again.
