Most Evangelical leaders support Iraq war
Black Collar Douchebaggery

Survey: Most Evangelical leaders support Iraq war

WASHINGTON -- A survey of evangelical Christian leaders this month found a majority support the U.S.-led war in Iraq, but almost as many expressed serious reservations.

Most of those who responded to the National Association of Evangelicals' survey back the war and want the United States to "stay until the job is done."

Each month, the NAE chooses topics to measure attitudes of its board of directors, which includes top executives of 60 denominations and representatives of mission groups, universities, publishers and churches.

"Most evangelicals in America subscribe to the theological position called 'just war' theory, that it is morally justifiable to go to war under certain conditions," said Leith Anderson, a Minnesota pastor and president of the NAE. "However, there is also a strong evangelical voice in the 'peace church' tradition that opposes all war."

6. Our President gives them Faith Based Funds
(our tax dollars with our protest) so they have become arrogant and wealthy.

The Secretary of Treasury has not protected our treasury from plunder...nor the Congress. We should demand he be fired and the Congress go home since they fail to protect or represent us.

Bush is setting up wars of religious strife. He even admitted to a Judo/Christain Crusade against Muslims..Islamics..."terrorists" for Israel. I say George get on your white horse and lead the charge. It's so medievil.

5. All War Is Sin
Not surprisingly, three of the smallest denominations in Christendom are the three historic peace churches: Quakers, Mennonites and Church of the Brethren. And because those denominations are so small (and particularly not very big financially), Leith Anderson finds their voice that much easier to ignore. But we'll keep nagging him on this.

10. I'm sick of evangelicals say that they are worried about my soul
after they have been supporting a war that caused (through war and war related symptoms), a million dead, I worry about their souls. Assuming they evangelicals have souls.

11. Are we not talking to differnt issues.--War in Iraq and Just War
Doctrine???? Yes, Most Evangelicals and particularly Fundamentalists
have and do support WRI.

Just War Doctrine: The Principles of a JUST War were not met
according to the Vatical . Even Terry Jeffries, ardent conservative
stated the principles for JUST War were not met. One Leader
for Southern Baptist Convention came on TV and stated the Just
War Principles were met. During the runnup to war, He was the
only Person I saw make this claim.

Nevertheless, there is a strong nationalistic fervor that moves
through the Evangelical, especially the Fundamentalist wing.

I believe this springs out of the old Americal right or wrong.

Iraq Shock & Awe but not that many. We only heard bits and pieces by the corporate media. DA!

Bush acts like god is behind him in his killing and plunder. Blair was also a liar.
