About the POTUS and the "too many houses" statement.

Please take a deep breath, and imagine this:

You are the POTUS. You have had this job for 7 years.

You have access to every piece of information, data, and secret intelligence reports.
You can call anyone in the country into your office to talk with him/her about the issues.
You can talk to leaders of other countries about all of the most important issues on the planet.
You can have a TV with every news channel, you can read any newspaper you choose.

Everyone on the planet is talking about the long foreseen recession in the US.
When asked about the economy, your answer is that there are too many houses.


Now back to reality.


This is my honest question:
Do you think that the POTUS really believes what he is saying, or is he talking in parables?

1. he just means HE has too many houses...the overhead is killing him....

oh, wait a minute, it's killing the taxpayers

2. I laughed my ass off when I heard him say that. And then I cried,

because I know he believes it.

And I know that he also couldn't give a rat's ass about it, either.

But what it DID do is offer an opportunity in which he finally admitted that the economy might be having a problem. Of course, the roll-over lick-me dems in congress won't do anything with it, except maybe come on national TV and say how they love that he saw the housing problem and they're going to be bi-partisan and let the Republicans come up with some kind of new legislation that they'll rubber stamp and go back to hiding under their desks.

5. Maybe he should watch 8 hours of videos from YouTube,

searching with the term "economy", on his flight home.

3. He's using terms that can be considered correct after an explanation.

Basically, he says something ridiculous, he's called on it, and then they explain their source and reasoning. We look like jerks for questioning him, he looks good for being right.

With all of the sources of information you listed, they can cherry pick whatever they like.

But to answer your question, no I don't think he believes a word of it. He knows what's going on. His circle knows what's going on.

4. He said that because he is a simpleton

and thinks the whole problem is that there are too many houses up for sale and if we'd just go ahead and BUY THEM, the country would be peachy.

He doesn't understand that taking on a 30 year mortgage requires faith in the future and that few of us feel secure enough in our jobs to do that. He doesn't understand that we can't save on falling income and that banks are no longer lending to people who don't have a down payment. He just doesn't understand that speculators in his own class drove the prices up beyond our means.

Instead, he feels the problem is that we the people are just too cheap to help our country out by buying up all those houses on the market.

We haven't had anybody this tone deaf in office since that last trio of pre Depression GOPs: Harding, Coolidge and Hoover.

6. That's easier for him to say than,

there aren't enough good paying jobs, you know like what some people refer to as a livable wage.
