Ken Star and the tobacco industry?
I caught a glimpse of the movie "The Insider," about the guy who whistleblew on the tobacco industry on "60 Minutes."

And at some point, in a discussion by the "60 Minutes" group after the head of the tobacco companies appeared before Congress, one of them mentioned Ken Star.

Why didn't this surprise me?

4. And Karl Rove, too. Wonderful
Oil and tobacco, the two pillars of this administration.

5. Ken Starr was outside counsel for Philip-Morris ..
While conducting his inquisition of President Clinton, Starr often used Philip-Morris GulfStream jets. Since Clinton was the arch-enemy of Big Tobacco, this is just another sordid aspect of the Vast Right-wing Conspiracy.

6. That was an excellent movie. I just saw it recently on cable.
I remembered the Jeffrey Wigand story from when it happened but I didn't know the details until I saw this film. It's much more powerful to see the story presented in front of you than to just read about it. There's one minor point I'm curious about: the movie made Mike Wallace seem like a dick. I was wondering if he really is a dick or if someone involved in telling the story had an ax to grind. Does anybody know? Is he a dick?

7. Probably in the middle. Mike Wallace was a very powerful man in the 70s
when he established the "gotcha" style of "60 Minutes." Thus, being human, I am sure that at some point he considered himself an omni powerful person.
