Like Pat Buchanan, Limbaugh won’t disappear. He’ll just become a bad joke.

Who can ever forget the late, great Molly Ivins’ line about Pat Buchanan’s speech at the 1992 Republican Convention. In her unmatched wit, she quipped that Buchanan’s hate-filled speech “… sounded better in the original German.”

The Pat Buchanan whom we know and despise has been around for decades. He was a speech writer for Nixon, and then spent years as a pundit spewing his xenophobic, liberal-hating, fascist-loving venom. And although he’s still on MSNBC tossing out the same old crap, no one pays much attention to him.

Most of us would like to see Rush Limbaugh disappear – or at least bite off his own tongue in an oxycontin fit of rage. But, like Buchanan, he'll be around for years to come. However, he will lose his power to command an army of dittohead zombies. He will become a Buchanan-like figure that we can laugh at or ignore.

Bulletin, Rush: Your days of influence are fading. The world is changing and you are becoming irrelevant. So enjoy your final moments as a poison peddler. Within a few years, get used to hearing the term, “Rush who?”

On edit: IMO Molly's comment forever buried any credibility that Buchanan may have had. It's amazing how thought and brilliance can defeat hatred every time.

1. Like Falwell, Pat Buchanan & Limbaugh WILL disappear
In keeping with the phrase, "People don't change, the old die,"

I don't expect old guys like these to change, but I do expect these old guys to die.

3. Better that they hang around as reminders of what we should never again become.

6. He became famous playing the victim...
...and will stay famous with the same schtick when Democrats are in power. He's too rich to have to strategize.
