BASELESS RUMOR ?? McCain may keep Cheney as VP ?
I'm pretty sure it's a completely baseless rumor, because I just made it up. But I was thinking, "Gosh, wouldn't it be awful if it were true!" Furthermore, what if someone else had the same idea? Would it still be baseless then? Maybe the best thing to do is do query everyone in my address book, and see what kind of discussion results. Just so long as no one anywhere ever gets confused and thinks there's some basis for it ...

because that would be wrong.

9. Indeed--Darth has enjoyed his 8 years at the helm of "America: The Corporation." He's
done well for the 2% of the population Bush/Cheney represents. I worry he'll find some way to stay on the scene.

4. the only way I can see that happening is...
so that Condeleezza could just step in after hell freezes over and McCain gets elected.

7. It's too early to worry about that happening
But if he names Cheney as the head of his VP candidate search committee, all bets are off.

17. Though the Constitution expressly limits presidential terms...
It's not as clear on VP terms. But boy, you'd have the most unpopular Repub ticket in recent memory, maybe even more unpopular than Goldwater/Miller in '64. Were it to happen, Obama/whoever may win almost on the scale of LBJ/HHH that year. Which would likely mean a fillibuster-proof Senate (60+) and our biggest House majority since 1974.

Oh, well, a guy can dream, can't he?:eyes:

B-)
