Is Cokie Roberts a more sophisticated Anne Coulter?
Edited on Sun Feb-24-08 11:40 AM by Cyrano
Watching her this morning on This Week with Stephanopolis, her right-wing leanings have become more apparent than ever.

For years, she managed to "slip past" as a "fair-minded" pundit. But she's really started to lose it.

Her Republican partisanship was just hanging out there this morning. And anyone who never caught it before, couldn't miss it today. At times, she sounded like Tweety, cutting off everyone else to make her biased points against both Obama and Hillary.

For those further west who haven't yet seen this morning's show, try to catch it. The Coulter part of her mind was on display for all to see.

2. I've known for a long time that she was a Repuke.
I have a feeling she's not smart enough to realize why she's a Repuke. I suspect she's a Repuke because she's one of these people whose parents were Repukes and she remained Repuke, much in the same way somebody remains in the same religion their parents were in "just because." She's a waste of our air time.

5. Wasn't her father a Dem speaker of the house?
I seem to remember that.

8. Oh I didn't know that. All I know is whenever she opens her mouth....
... Repukeness spews out. And it's not yesterday this started. She's always been right wing Repuke.

12. She's the daughter of
Hale and Lindy Claiborne Boggs of New Orleans. Her father was Majority Leader of the House, and her mother became a member of Congress after his death.

They were Democrats, but they were Louisiana Democrats. Sorta like Mary Landrieu is a Democrat.

14. Yes, I think she is even worse than George Will on that show.
Will doesn't make any bones that he is a conservative, while Cokie likes to act like she is independent but she really is right wing.

3. Cokie Roberts early on was a "star" inside the Beltway because of her
Congressman father and IMO not because she was any good at journalism.

It's so darn fun for powerful and influential people to have lunch with someone named "Cokie," especially when you know the discussion is going to be superficial and fluffy, and Cokie Roberts is nothing if not superficial and fluffy.

Her NPR reports on Monday mornings are the droozy obseervations of even the most casual newspaper reader and fall way short of insight, nevermind analysis.

Agree with you -- her conservative bias is visible (audible) and has been for some time.

So glad you asked. These republicon propagandists need to be exposed - and then cashiered for the sake of America.

6. I don't watch the talking heads
If I want hear mindless blather, I can talk to Dave-our neighborhood resident loon. He goes around at all hours with a broom and trash bags, picking up trash in the streets-unfortunately most of the trash only he can see.
