Jon Stewart's best Oscar night gags
"Normally when you see a black man or a woman president, an asteroid is about to hit the Statue of Liberty."

"Tonight we look beyond the dark days to focus on happier fare - this year's slate of Oscar-nominated psychopathic killer movies. Does this town need a hug? No Country For Old Men, Sweeney Todd,There Will Be Blood. All I can say is: thank God for teen pregnancy."

"There are three pregnant ladies with us tonight. Jessica Alba. Cate Blanchett. Nicole Kidman. And the baby goes to.... Angelina Jolie. I'm stunned. Angelina couldn't be with us tonight, it's tough to get 17 babysitters on Oscar night."

"Whoever owns the Boeing 707 parked on La Brea Avenue, your landing lights are on (John Travolta runs on stage and rushes for the door). "Don't worry, it's a hybrid".

1. One of my faves...
Jon Stewart watching Lawrence of Arabia on his iPod and then saying "You know, to fully appreciate this movie, you should see it in widescreen". He then turns the iPod on its side "Now that's better."

4. So
you don't like product placements, yet you spent all 4 hrs watching the movie industry give itself awards in an effort to promote the movie industry? The Oscars is 1 long product placement ad.

9. I thought that was a riff on TCM's "wide-screen presentation" bit
which features clips from Lawrence of Arabia (as well as Gigi, 7 Brides, Ben Hur).

Maybe I just spend a little too much time on TCM.

Maybe that too.
But Stewart making sure the Apple Logo was visible was the give-away. I think there was a Wii placement too at some ponit.

10. When's Colbert geting the job?
I thought John was so worried about being pollitically correct he came off mostly unfunny IMHO. He's still the best, well second best on a political satire show. Like I said when's Colbert getting the job?
