Well, I pi$$ed off a lot of people today and feel really good about it.

As I've mentioned before I lost my daughter in a tragic auto accident in '93. Fortunately some of her friends from up north (Jersey) have still kept in touch and I am grateful for that. One of her friends is a rabid RWer who sends me stuff in e-mails that make me cringe. I usually just delete and say nothing.

Today she sent me one about how America needs to be afraid of putting a "Muslim" in office and all of the other disgusting things these posts contain. It started off "If this doesn't change the Dems to vote Republican I don't know what will." I sat back and thought: If one of my own sons were to send me such a missive, what would I do? Fortunately, DU has had some really great responses to this drek today so I took my time and "replied to all." Dear Mxxxxxx: I would rather die tomorrow before I would ever become a racist, bigoted, terra war mongering repuke. Please remove me from your address list if you feel the need to pass this drek on." I then copied and pasted some really great stuff from DU to her.

My point is these e-mails cannot go unanswered or un-challenged. It may be a case of someone just passing e-mails on without really understanding their impact. To be honest, I really don't care. If nothing else I educated a few people today, probably pi$$ed them off and ya know what? I feel good!

7. Recently, I had to sit a friend down hard, so to speak

She sent me an email that outlined a bunch of stuff that Dems apparently screwed up. So I checked Snopes and found some were half truths and some things were messes shared by Repukes.

And I thought that no matter what, it was an insulting email to send to a Dem. So I replied advising her of that fact. I don't ever send her email like that.

That was three days ago and I haven't heard a peep. Too bad, so sad. At some point they go too far and you just have to put up a fence.

my heart aches for your terrible loss. Secondly, great job on the response. I think many of us get those kinds of e-mails and it's really aggravating. I did my best to ignore them as well until I got one of those "Barack is a member of al-qaeda" type of e-mails from my church group. I replied back, quite nicely I thought, with actual facts. I think they've removed me from their list now. Oh well.
