Bush rebuffs governors' requests for infrastructure funds
I believe this to be a really important issue but other than the article I spotted in my local paper I've heard nary a peep from the MSM. If someone has links could you post them here?

I'm transcribing just a bit of the article for your here.

WHITE HOUSE REBUFFS GOVERNORS' REQUEST FOR INFRASTRUCTURE FUNDS
By Andrew Welsh-Huggins
Associated Press Writer

Governors pushing for federal money to repair roads, water systems and bridges didn't get the response they wanted from the White House on Monday. Even their own ranks are divided over infrastructure spending.

Governors raised the issue during a meeting with President Bush. "It's the best type of stimulus, even better than what was in the first package," Pennsylvania Gov. Ed Rendell, a Democrat, said as he left the White House.

Bush this month signed an economic stimulus package to send $300 to $1,200 rebate checks to millions of Americans and to offer tax incentives to businesses. He opposed including infrastructure projects because "it's not really a stimulative way to get the economy going," White House press secretary Dana Perino said Monday.

Um... and just how much are we spending EVERY DAMN WEEK in Iraq?

1. The House and Senate
Dem's really need to hammer Bu$h and the Reptilians on this every chance they get. How the hell can the Admin justify allowing Americas infrastructure to fall apart yet spend so much on occupying another country? The screwy part of it is that very little of the money being pissed away in Iraq is actually making life any better for them or improving their infrastructure either.
