Can anyone recommend a bank?
I'm going to need to open up a business account with a bank, and am looking for suggestions. And, yes, I will check out my credit union, but I want to have a back up in case that fails.

1. You mean an online bank? I've used Chase for years, never had a problem and never
been charged a cent.

3. One McBank is like any other, pretty much
The best thing to do is go in and talk to the nice folks in the offices on the other side of the place from the tellers and ask them what they can do for your business.

Then take the best deal.

4. Nothing but problems with chase.
Lost 3 deposits (teller transactions) in 3 years. They always made good, but what a hassle.

6. I prefer credit unions
as they are owned by the depositors and treat folks better. That being said, I'd go with a local bank with a good reputation in town.

7. As a general rule, the smaller the bank the better
And under no circumstances use B of A.

8. I've had a good relationship with Wachovia for the last 5 years.
Both personal and business. Also had a few campaign accounts there.

14. I love Wachovia. When I was mugged and wallet w/cards, etc. were
stolen, they immediately called SS for me while I was on the line. Immediate cancellation of cards, etc. Their customer service is the best I've dealt with...

12. Credit unions or smaller regional or local banks. No megabanks.
Stay far away from the megabanks - Chase, Wells Fargo, BoA, Wachovia - they all suck - they gouge their customers with fees and treat them like garbage.

I've never tried a credit union, but I'm currently with a smaller regional bank in my area that seems to be treating me decently - I'm not getting scalped with fees and such, and their customer service is decent.
