1. You might want to expound a bit on this.
Like who is Roger Clemens. And why he is any different from any other congress critter.

2. [facepalm]
Baseball player. Pitcher. Pitched for Boston, the Skankees, Houston, and the Skankees again.

Liked to throw at people until he went into the National League and had to bat.

Royal asshat.

Hope they throw the book at him for perjury.

3. He's a baseball player who testified before congress that he didn't use HGH. Now
congress wants further investigation to see if there should be perjury charges leveled against him.

VERY important stuff this...

4. He's a tree with a knothole for the Congress to stare in to while the forest is on fire.
Edited on Wed Feb-27-08 05:59 PM by Uncle Joe
Or as some people know him by a baseball player who may have taken steroids and possibly lied about it.

6. I am ashamed of Waxman.
He is a baby-can't bring big bad Bush to justice, can't get Rove to answer his subpoena, impeachment is 'off the table"-so we'll go after Clemens. This reminds me of the Martha Stewart debacle that was roundly criticised on these very boards. Henry reminds me of a dweeby little high school nerd who lost his woman to a jock-probably a baseball player, probably a pitcher. Get back to work, loser.

7. I know
constantly we are being punked up the arse by these clowns. Certainly continuing their number one concern-and drug of choice-you know voting for them because they will save us from the bad guys-is a farce.

Four years on DU and actually paying attention as made me totally have zero hope in change. Zero. Sorry, Obama. Nice work if you can get it-so good luck fella.

10. Clemens deserves to be gone after--he's a lying sack of repuke shit,
but it is disgusting that the biggest gang of criminals in earth's history is running rampant just a few blocks away from the Capitol and no congressional "democrat" is doing anything about it, but they have time and energy to worry about one juicehead jock.

15. I believe Waxman apologized but I can't find the link - I saw it on PBS
But this is now getting more absurd. We have many bigger fish to fry besides this crap.

Thanks. Alas, I think he is as safe from impeachment as those squatting in the White House. Well, maybe just a little safer, given that he isn't a government employee. :toast:

And Congress is playing good cop/bad cop on a baseball player?

27. well....
the only positive thing about this is once again it shows what bufoons the republicans are. if anyone watched the hearings they went out of their way to protect clemens and go after mcnamie. mcanamies attornies believe that bush would even offer a pardon to clemens..........cheat to win electios, cheat to win at baseball.....just cheat! that is the slogan of the gop convention this year.

29. 2 points:
1) which lying sack of shit is telling the truth?

2) baseball is "america's past time" and Congress has already set the precedent of involving itself in baseball (anti-trust exemption).
