While some of the misspelled words are funny, I'm not sure what it says about us to laugh and point fingers at those who are trying the best they can just because they are on the opposite side of the fence.

It was not a hateful letter, just a letter written by someone who is lacking in education.

80. I spent years working in and consulting to long-term care facilities

for developmentally disabled and mentally ill people. I've written hundreds of psych evaluations, behavior programs, etc. I'm now a psychologist in private practice, with a largely forensic caseload. My major work product yesterday was a report of an evaluation I had done for the court of a criminal defendant with an IQ of 54 and a long history of intermittent, atypical psychosis. The point of the evaluation was to get him out of the criminal justice system and into the human services sphere. Last week I did a similar evaluation and report on another person with slightly higher IQ but prominent autistic features. I get onto DU periodically during the day as a break from my work. You are perhaps aware of the sort of dark "hospital humor" that many of us in fields like this resort to among ourselves. AFAIK, nothing I wrote will make it back to the unfortunate soul whose comments started this thread. It may be deplorable for me to have such a twisted sense of humor, but I assure you that it got its bends and twists in service on the front lines.
