Maintaining Iraqi sovereignty? Did the man actually utter those words? I heard him say it on NPR this morning and I almost drove off the road. This administration's complete and utter hypocrisy is sickening.

Gates has actually gotten my respect during his tenure. He's made the best of a hideous situation, putting competent people into DOD roles. I don't think that he's a good guy, since he's part of the BFEE -but I do think he wants out of Iraq ASAP, and he's not a lunatic like W surrounds himself with.

The irony of the leader of the occupying army warning about protecting the occupied nation's sovereignty from yet another invading army just struck me as tragically hilarious.
