Too bad there isn't a college course, People Smarts 101.

Or maybe you mean something else by "people smarts"?

5. People who are good at bullshitting, put on a good show. Later on you find out
they're incompetent, lazy, won't follow through, etc.

6. sorry, I can't help you there. At work, I rely on letters of reference, friends' recommendations
word of mouth. Calling people who write letters of reference for someone is the best way to find out if they're bs'ing, incompetent and so forth. My gut is pretty good. In real life, with friends, I look for early signs. Do they cancel for no good reason? Are they hard to pin down? Determine your comfort level and go with it. Good luck!

4. There's a whole slew of books out there, most of which you
can get through Amazon.

If I were you, I'd search Amazon for personality types for a start. Maybe, body language or non-verbal communication.

I'm an introvert and people puzzle the hell out me. I just can't figure us out.......
