"Wars don't end, they are won or lost," -Lynne Cheney
http://www.inrich.com/cva/ric/news.apx.-content-articles-RTD-2008-03-01-0098.html

Lynne Cheney spoke at the annual fundraising breakfast for Rep. Eric I. Cantor, R-7th.

Vice President Dick Cheney's wife talked tax cuts and military victory and took a shot at Sen. Barack Obama in a breakfast speech in Richmond yesterday.

Lynne Cheney said Obama, the front-runner for the Democratic nomination for president, "was not speaking for me and for the rest of the people in this country" when he called for an immediate pullout of American troops from Iraq.

"Wars don't end, they are won or lost," she said.

Cheney spoke at the annual fundraising breakfast for Rep. Eric I. Cantor, R-7th, at the Greater Richmond Convention Center. About 1,000 people attended. Ray Allen Jr., a political consultant to Cantor, said the Cantor re-election campaign raised about $350,000.

A former chairwoman of the National Endowment for the Humanities, Cheney praised the administration of President Bush and her husband, saying "America is a stronger, safer country" because of them.

1. It's not a "war." It's an occupation.
And those end.

17. Wow! I can't say that this ever crossed my mind!
But you are correct! They're proud to have been in office when America was attacked.

Not one news agency questioned why our massive, expensive, always on-alert military just laid down that day.

10. Did we win or lose Vietnam, Lynne?
Even with a draft, Dickie managed to avoid helping "win" that one.

Lynne Cheney: While most of the boys I knew saw the charm of driving back and forth, time and again, between the two A&W root beer stands in our small town, Dick did not. And, when practically everybody in Casper, Wyoming started doing the twist, I can tell you, Dick did not.

Stewart: And when all those young men were forced to go to Vietnam.

Lynne Cheney: Dick did not.

Lynne at the 2004 GOP convention, as interpreted by The Daily Show.

14. How would a Republican know?
They haven't won a war since we beat the Spainish in 1898.

World War I: Won under Democratic President Woodrow Wilson
World War II: Won under Democratic Presidents FDR and Harry Truman
Korean War: Not over, currently a cease fire.
Vietnam War: Lost under Republican President Gerald Ford.
Gulf War I: Not over, ended by cease fire, restarted
Balkans War: won under Democratic President Bill Clinton
Afghanistan War: not over, being lost by President(sic) GW Bush
Gulf War II: Not over, being lost by President(still sic) GW Bush

A hundred years without a win is a long time, ask the Cubs.

21. "..I'm talking about AMERCIA interests" Lynne Cheney on the Daily Show
Video here
http://www.crooksandliars.com/2007/10/11/the-daily-show-lynne-cheneys-interests/

CHENEY: You know, I think when the history books are written, that we will look back on this period of time and we will say, on 9/11, we really thought within six months, we would be attacked again, maybe six weeks. It’s been more than six years and that is not an accident. I think this administration - my husband and the President - deserve a lot of credit for that.

STEWART: Okay.

CHENEY: Good (laughter)

STEWART: Well, alright. There was, I mean, there was the anthrax thing. And then there was-well, you know, the first time they bombed the World Trade Center, it was eight years until we got attacked again. And they weren’t apparently doing anything…

CHENEY: Well, yes, but there were many attacks in between 1993 and the World Trade Centers coming down in 2001. Remember the USS Cole, for example. There were worldwide bombings going on, the bombings in embassies in Africa. So the terrorists weren’t reluctant to damage American interests and kill Americans. Friends?

STEWART: We are friends, it’s just…you know they have been doing that all these past six years. They’ve been…I mean, you know, the Spanish bombing and the English bombing and all the bombs in Iraq…

CHENEY: Yes, but I’m talking about American interests (the crowd groans and audibly cringes)

STEWART: Aren’t we interested in…? Alright, I assumed that they were our allies.

15. Yet the Cheneys don't believe in helping
win any wars. They all have "other priorities". Like writing soft porn, like Lynne. Or complaining about John Kerry referring to you as gay, even though you are gay and live an openly gay lifestyle, and have written a book about being gay...like Mary Cheney. Or losing all your emails when being investigated for outing a CIA agent and lying about WMD like Dick.
Yes. Those other priorities really keep the Cheneys from doing their part during war time.
