It Italy, they used to call the $ "il superdollaro"
And it wasn't that long ago. Saw it refered to as "il mini-dollaro" on the newspaper today.

I am fortunately paid in Euro. In any event, the economy is not going to well for any of us (or rather the vast majority of us). In the past couple of months I noticed I was always arriving for appointments early (very unRoman) because there is simply no traffic. The bus comes right away and whisks me to the center! I've talked to a few cab drivers and they say people just don't go out as much.

I am italian, but I don't believe positive US$ value excepet for petrol
