I donīt mind TROLLS, but Iīm really bothered by PARTY-POOPERS
Trolls register at DU and post threads and messages supporting Republican views and making cases against the Democratic candidates.

I donīt mind trolls, because they are easy to recognize, and I can always call the Red Cross (thatīs what I call the ignore button).

What bothers me are the PARTY POOPERS!

PARTY POOPERS are those who have been at DU long enough for 1000+ posts, who make intelligent comments once in a while, but canīt keep themselves from POOPING on others.

PARTY POOPERS are those who generalize and

1) make fun of others who have a good education and earn an honest paycheck (as if it were a cardinal sin to go to work everyday and provide for a family).

2) make fun of people who earn more than they spend.

3) make fun of people who are inspired by Barack Obama (if he has charisma, great!)

4) make unqualified derogatory comments about other countries and their leaders

5) make fun of people who choose to think positively when discussing issues

If you are a Party Pooper, please donīt reply to this post ... please Have A Nice Day! :-)

1. hmmm
1. That's why there's offshoring.
2. That includes anyone making minimum wage; for jobs once offshored but came back.
3. Well, those asswipes need to understand that people prefer positive vibes to negative ones. At least he comes across like a natural leader.
4. Leaders already do that, but then folks like Chavez sometimes need to be told the phrase that pays too.
5. But it's easier to wallow in emotion and wedge issues!!

17. Hi HypnoToad, about Nr. 4
We have to remember that DU is a public forum, a global public forum.

When we make unqualified derogatory comments about other countries and their leaders, we are showing our ignorance and arrogance at the same time. This goes for foreign cultures and customs too.

Itīs definitely important to "get the facts straight", but when we make unqualified comments, we only spark differences between countries.

Peace :-)

2. I can think of a few DUers like you describe.
I had one ingnored because he/she would always start one-liner flamewars with me and others. The moment I took that person off of ignore, the one-liner flamebaiting started again straightaway.

5. I've been known to poop during a party,
but it involved a chili cook off and beer. I won't go into details, other than to say, there are some WILD recipes out there.

What we need to do is to collect what we perceive (and what the GOP claims) is their platform. Frankly, other than giving corpserations more rights than individuals, cutting corpse taxes, and fucking the poor and middle class, I have trouble determining what their overall strategy or policy is.

of those policies they publicize, they seem illogical and disjointed.
Iraq, for example. counterproductive, unbelievably costly, a magnet for anti-american sentiments and persons, it is creating more terrorism rather than preventing it. Add to the mix, Iraq had nothing to do with 9/11 (saudi arabia certainly did more, both by government and nongovernment entities) and you wonder why Iraq? What is their fixation? Many GOPers are actually bright individually. You may minimize and demean Rove's, Cheney's and others' intellect, but you do so at your own risk. So why is the party so blind when it comes to Iraq?

7. I think itīs the basic form of manipulation: Fear
Fear of neighbors wanting your food.
Fear of immigrants wanting your job.
Fear of other countries wanting your freedoms.

If fear was deleted, there would be no discussion.

6. Yeah, but you have to understand, Angela...
This country is stiff with angry, bitter, pain-filled people. People who have realized, or, even worse, are in the midst of realizing that The American Covenant, that covenant between the government and its citizens, is a lie. It does not exist. It has been spaven and crippled by the greediest and worst and most reprehensible amongst us.

Party-Pooping is just one way they cope. It won't be the only way, in the fullness of time. Some will quit, some will adjust, some will act out violently. That is a given. It is the ratio of those three groups that worries me. Especially when one considers the complete and utter inaction on the part of our elected officials to address one goddamned thing, except maybe shove another tax break at the people who built this mess. Or investigate steroids in sports.

If the inaction continues, I expect no more than three years before the lid comes off this sucker, at a social level. It will not be a sublime experience.

With no change, no improvement, there will not be 2012 elections. They will be replaced by societal chaos in the US. Mark these words. You heard them here first.

8. What leads you to predict "no more than three years"?
When I started here several months ago, many threads related to a revolution, but since then, itīs all quieted down.

Nothing has changed, but people arenīt talking about it anymore. Do you think they gave up?

10. The hopes we all have...
For the elections and a changing of the political guard. I am afraid I am not as sanguine about the kind of sweeping and radical(Root: Greek, "Straight to the point of the issue") changes this society needs to move forward in the peaceful and constructive manner any sane person would hope for. I see too little real will for that kind of change, in Washington, and too strong a marriage with the status quo. No desire to restore balance to our economic and social systems. Too much legal bribery afoot.

Any president, regardless of party, at best has 3 years to get jiggy with it. Inaction or half-baked measures, which are the kind of measures all politicians love, will not mollify. Hence, it will be Showtime.

12. It's truly a sad commentary when
previously law-abiding citizens by necessity consider crime and it's consequence of privatized prison as the next-to-only way to obtain basic housing, adequate meals, and treatment for something as common as strep throat rather than be de-humanized into, well, "free" yet worthless street prisoners. I'm ashamed to say I've considered it down the road. Joplin: Freedom's just another word for nothing left to lose.

Yeah, QUIT AND ADJUST...that's the ticket! :sarcasm:

You are absolutely right, things may get downright ugly but I'm not feeling very inclined to make nice, but this Party offers the best chance so they better deliver. Sooner or later, it will take all TPTB's riches to keep their own personal safety status quo, and since they didn't mind stealing mine, God willing I'm still around which I doubt, I fantasize being among the chorus of singing fat ladies.

They fear it and it make's them vunerable. This is why they spy and listen:
We need to find the best ways to exploit that fear.

Having been absolutely petrified of parental authority, I didn't even understand how to participate back then. Maybe I don't have much of a clue now, but DAMMIT, things just can't go on this way or our country is lost. I'm never too old to be a Student(of Constitutionally guaranteed life in America).

Still, Tobacco Road may be the only way...you know, bring dynamite and a flame; blow it up; start all over again...I hope not, it's bad for the(any)environment.

that you don't request the same courtesy extended to Hillary supporters that you ask for obama supporters.
So after 4 months...you have figured out all the ills of DU.
Congratulations.
