http://www.americanprogress.org/issues/2007/09/feal_interview.html"...As a country, we took one on the chin. We got knocked down and we bounced back up on Sept. 11. We’re resilient and we move forward, and believe me I’m all for moving forward.
But in the process of moving forward we forgot what we left behind. And that’s about 40,000 people that are sick and dying. The heroes. And if you look up the word hero in the dictionary, it says “person noted for noble achievement.” That title doesn’t fit these brave souls—these men and women who are sick and dying and have been left stranded by their federal, state, and local governments.
The very people who we vote into office are not doing their jobs. And that’s just sad. And they say, well, you know, some of the things you say, they’re just un-American.
And I say to them, I volunteered to join the army at 17 years old. I had to get my parents’ signature. I served my country. I served my country again at 9/11. I founded two organizations, and I’m donating a body part. I don’t think there’s anybody more American than me..."

Welcome to FealGood Foundation. My name is John Feal and I'm the founder and it's President.
To all FGF supporters, friends, responders, media, and most of all 9/11 responders:
We can only hope that 2008 will be a better year for yesterday's heroes, then the previous ones before. The fact is,and the sad thing is the further we get away from 9/11,the more catastrophic each individual case gets. No American, and certainly no "HERO" should live like we have the last 6.5 years. It is the my promise of myself and this foundation, that is fueled by compassion, that we will continue to fight, advocate, care, assist and treat all heroes accordingly. As we grow, all you brave souls will benefit from a foundation that cares if you have food on your table, heat in your house, gas in your cars, and that you get and have the proper benefits you all have earned and deserve. I know first hand none of you asked to get sick or injured, but it's okay to ask for help, and not feel ashamed of it. Each and everyone of you are my heroes, for your resolve and fight to make it this long while our government has let us down. For that you are heroes twice and god bless you all."
