Two Sixty Minutes segments - one good, one bad
First, the Pentagon's new Ray Gun. The story was a soapy crock of bull. The Ray Gun shoots"rays" at people that hurt and stop them in their tracks but does not kill them. Thye tout it for war but it looks like it is for domestic crowd control to me. No more peace protests for you - off the property!

Then there was a good piece on Remote Area Medical - a group that sets up a free clinic in an area for a weekend and provides dental and medical care for the working poor. Formerly a venture restricted to the third world, it now comes to the US because so many people are uninsured. One weekend it served almost 1,000 people and had to turn 400 away. Health care is a human right - in Europe, Cuba and most other civilized countries, everyone receives health care. Watch it. It is enough to make you want to kill the evil people who run this country.

1. on 250,000 a year also
of course many items were donated as well as the Doctor's time as well but that's still pretty good keeping costs down.

2. Your second story doesn't sound so good either
I agree that this is a good thing, bringing medical care to those who can't afford it.

But is this available to everyone? What about the 400 turned away? The story didn't have a happy ending for them.

I think it's a shame and an embarrassment to America to have to rely on volunteers who bring temporary and irregular help to the few areas they cover.

What about the rest?

4. You're right but
Remote does more in one day than this Administration has done in two terms.

5. Mock anti-violence sign-carriers being violent with rocks. Hmmm.
Those stereotypers are pretty darn stupid people.

Wonder how many would be surprised to hear about what Canadians found, that the rock throwers in Canadian protests were planted by the police. And the police were caught and had to apologize.

Oh, it's for crowd control alright. Specifically so Americans cannot exercise a right of free assembly.
