FISA and the Protect America Act have shown us one thing
When the Democrats slow down and do not cave to the Republicans immediately, as we have certainly done for the last 7 years, they lose their power. When we slow down the process, give ourselves time, and then use it to make our arguments we cease to be intimidated into inappropriate action.

It has not been so infuriating that we have lost on every issue these last 7 years, what brings out the rage is that we caved in on every issue for the last 7 years. It sure is refreshing to see that end, particularly on the most important issued to face us in during the years of the Bush Disaster, Immunity for the Telecoms.

3. It has been known that there was a deal in the works since this all started
And if you will remember correctly we were told early last week that they expected a compromise to be reached by mid week and the final bill to come out of committee by the end of the week.

Notice that did not happen. So one assumes we have not caved yet. Is it possible that we will never cave on this one?

2. Not so fast.
Seems there is a deal in the works to cave in, yet again, to the republicans. http://news.yahoo.com/s/ap/20080302/ap_on_go_co/terrorist_surveillance

Another by-product of not giving the telecoms immunity from the Constitution was that it pissed off the telecoms and they were slowing down their campaign contributions to the republican party.

If it weren't for repukes, like the bushes, telecoms wouldn't need immunity from the Constitution. It pissed them off when they saw the Democrats were not giving into the republicans and they stopped funding the republican party.

By caving in, yet again, democrats are inadvertently funding their own challengers not just for the presidency but for Senate and House seats as well.

Talk about stupid political moves.

4. How does lack of funding for Republicans cause Democrats to cave?
