Kansas grand jury shocker: Religionists strike out, get NO indictments against Planned Parenthood
Just crossed the AP wire. Suck on it, Dominionist scumbags!
Mar. 3, 2008 9:52 p.m. ET -- KANSAS CITY, Mo. /AP/ -- A Kansas grand jury that investigated a Planned Parenthood clinic has refused to issue an indictment on allegations that it violated restrictions on the procedure.

The Johnson County, Kan., grand jury's decision was announced Monday evening, Planned Parenthood officials said.

Abortion opponents, through a petition, had forced the court to convene the panel and investigate the clinic in Overland Park, Kan., to determine whether it violated laws on parental notice and informed consent.

They also wanted to see whether the clinic was illegally trafficking in fetal tissue.

3. Hooray!
This has been a marathon. I have not been involved in it but the attorney for PP is a very good friend of mine. I would never want to be opposite him in court. I hope he and all the rest involved can rest for a bit but I don't think they are done.

It will be a wonderful day when Kansas no longer has to deal will Phill Kline.

Whew, this feels good.

6. Thank God
Maybe finally we can get rid of the right wing extremists that plague this state. Maybe the citizens of my state will finally realize that the people they elect are screwing them over. Case in point, Brownback and the most recent farm bill. The bill royally screwed two thirds of the farmers in western Kansas, because they were too small-- the bill only really benefited the mega farms. I hope this new movement appears in Kansas, because the state infrastructure is falling apart. KU alone has upwards of $300 Million in backlog facility maintenance.
