VIDEO: Fox Cameraman Kicked Off Public Property In Detroit

A FOX 2 photographer has a confrontation with a member of Mayor Kwame Kilpatrick's security team. He was following the rules when he was approached by an overbearing officer, and it was all caught on tape. FOX 2's Taryn Asher reports from Detroit with more on the story.

"You're under investigation ... I'm not required to show you my driver's license."

1. As a general rule, any infringement of the 1st Amendment is intolerable ...
but since it's Fox, I'll make an exception.

2. That mayor and his thugs.....uh, errr, I mean, securirty team
are extremely corrupt.

I hope his ass is booted out of city hall ASAP.

He's constantly in trouble and always tries to hide his criminal activity by shielding reporters from asking tough questions on behalf of taxpayers.

He's a disgrace to Democrats.

In the instance, I'm on the side of FOX -- which needless to say, pains me to admit.

6. This is not the first time he's acted out....He's notorious
for having his goons block the access of reporters.

He's also thrown a microphone:

The Action News investigation of money spent by a tax-exempt, non-profit group for Detroit Mayor Kwame Kilpatrick's lavish family vacation has taken an ugly turn. When confronted by Ray Sayah, the mayor threw his microphone down a hallway -- while a camera was rolling.

4. Simply intolerable
Is there anything the governor can do about this? Surely this is a clear violation of First Amendment rights, it's hard to think of a more egregious violation.

7. Despite the scandals Mayor Kirkpatrick is very popular in the city.
and the cit of Detroit represents a huge voting block in Michigan. Therefore there's no reason to expect any action from the state. The feds have intervened in Detroit's government/ police force from time to time when things get bad enough but I don't expect that here.
