Marine Corps investigates puppy-throwing video
http://heraldnet.com/article/20080303/NEWS01/367822819

The video is upsetting: A man who appears to be a U.S. Marine in Iraq holds a puppy up to the camera, throws the yelping animal into a gully and shrugs.
Now a Monroe man is the target of rage and death threats after the video appeared on YouTube and started drawing worldwide attention Monday. Comments left at YouTube claim he is the Marine in the video.
As more people watched the video throughout the day, some posted personal information about the Monroe man and encouraged others to commit acts of cyber-vigilantism against him.
The family’s phone numbers had been disconnected as of Monday, and Snohomish County sheriff’s deputies have been told of the existing threats.

1. I happened across that clip yesterday and was appalled
The Marine clearly knows he's being videotaped. Trust me, you don't need to watch the video to be outraged, it is exactly how it is described. I don't wish the Marine's family any harm, but I hope he and the cameraman are held accountable. It was a vile and stupid thing to do...

2. Put me in the "Angry Backlash" column.
I couldn't bring myself to watch the clip, but the comments are an eye-opener. Aussies don't have a very high opinion of the US military

3. MARINE KILLING PUPPY REVEALS SOMETHING MORE DEADLY
Throwing a vulnerable, helpless puppy off a cliff is
symptomatic of something far more deadly. Well known in the
animal welfare community is the connection between the abuse
and murder of animals and the abuse of human beings. Animal
rescue and control groups are taught to look for symptoms of
child or domestic abuse in homes where there is animal abuse.
In my article "Growing A Serial Killer," I discuss
the progression of a child into a serial killer. One of the
main symptoms is the abuse and murder of small animals. In
throwing the puppy off a cliff, this Marine clearly
demonstrated an absence of regard for the life of this
defenseless, harmless animal. Consider not only this
cold-blooded act of killing the puppy, but the fact that this
man is a Marine. He has been trained to kill. He has been
psychologically molded to ignore his inhibitions and kill
other human beings. Not just one, but many.If the facts are as
they have been reported, and this Marine did, in fact, murder
this puppy, he needs a complete and thorough psychological
evaluation. His past needs to be explored for other acts of
violence, and if possible, he needs to be helped. Not only for
his sake, but for those of the people with whom he comes in
contact.Shawna Ryan, Author DESTINY'S DAMNED thriller trilogy.
