22. NightWatcher, don't bury your head in the sand.....we need
to see this so we can all feel/experience the appropriate amount of outrage in order to take action.

If we simply hear about someone throwing a puppy, it wouldn't generate the rage necessary to make sure that thug is punished.

Don't blame CNN. Blame the soldier.

15. I did. I saw a topic on it here last night, many claimed the dog wasn't killed...
I didn't watch the YouTube thing then, cause it just outrages me, with not having much recourse in the matter. Now I've seen it, thanks to Carol Costello, and anyone who tries to insist that it wasn't a real dog or that he was already dead, are simply full of shit.

The real "animals" were not harmed in the making of that video.

and I am sickened to death of the things that have been done in America's name, I am glad they showed it. Its time America saw the evil that is being done in our name. We should be shown much more than this (with warnings to get the kids from the room). So many think that war isnt ugly as long as they dont know about the dirty secrets.

Edited on Tue Mar-04-08 08:29 PM by Ahpook
What is their reason? And i am not being naive, i hope:)

The media have been licking the boots of this administration for years, why change now?

Are they airing it for a target audience (namely us) so they can throw out the " They Hate The Troops" garbage again in some twisted way?

Just seems odd.

isolated from society in a mental institution.

They need to be locked up because they're an unbelievable danger to all of us.

If they are capable of such cruelty towards a puppy, then just imagine what the same monsters might have done to innocent human beings. Torture? Rape? Murder that was every bit as cold as the way they murdered that innocent animal? Things far worse than any of us wish to know, I'm sure.

23. They need to show it a few more times. People need to see what
military service has the potential to do to some already sick fucks.

Seriously--if you take a sociopathic jerk and put him/her in a uniform, and give them a weapon, you are going to end up with some really sick fuckwits running around.

Support the troops my ass; I support more tax dollars going to the VA so we can try to heal people damaged by their service.

27. Maybe this will crack the myth that donning a uniform endows you with virtue.
Support Our Troops, we hear. When someone reports of abuse by those troops, there's an implication that they are a traitor to report it. It's funny how all these horrors take place at the hands of our saints in uniform -- torture of helpless (and usually innocent) people, vulgar bullying of a population, half a million civilians dead, cases of premeditated murder -- and its the puppy video that shows up on CNN. And may have a significant impact.

100 more years indeed.

39. Probably 50/50. May have had tendencies in this direction,
so found a vocation where they would be assets. War is violence, and this government pays people to be violent. Then calls them "troops" and asks us to support them.

and I know this will get flamed but I feel very sorry for those marines. They're missing a vital part that no human being should ever be without, and they do not seem to be aware of that which they are lacking. I'd rather lose my right hand or my eyes or my life than live without what these young men have lost. It was horrifying to see those mutilated souls on display in ones so young.

I do not feel sorry for them. It's time the military stood up and answered for ALL of its abuses--those committed in the Pentagon against whole nations, and those committed by marines against puppies. These people need to be held responsible.

~snip~

MONROE, Wash. -- The controversial Internet video that purports to show a Marine throwing a puppy off a rocky cliff has triggered threats and harrassment for a local family related to the soldier shown in the video.

The low-quality video shows two Marines joking before one hurls the puppy into a rocky gully. A yelping sound is heard as it flips through the air.

The U.S. Marine Corps has identified the man who appears to throw the dog as a 22-year-old lance corporal. KOMO 4 News has learned the Marine's family lives in Monroe, though his name has not been released by military officials.

The Marine belongs to the 1st Battalion, 3rd Regiment based in Hawaii -- a unit that has returned from a tour in Iraq. Military officials said the video was apparently taped in the town of Haditha, Iraq. Military officials say the Marine has been pulled from training for the duration of the investigation...
