McCain Suggests He Won't Investigate Bush Corruption
McCain Suggests He Won't Investigate Bush Corruption

Despite rhetoric about tackling corruption in Washington, John McCain does not appear too eager to look into the current administration. When asked today about supporting independent investigations into the Bush administration, McCain replied:

"I do not agree with your sentiment that there has been widespread corruption. I just don't accept that. And by the way my friends do you think it would be nice if the President of the United States got a little bit of credit for the fact that there has not been another attack on the United States of America since 9-11? I think he deserves some credit for that. I really do."

There is NO indication Edwards has struck any sort of deal. And even if he had, I doubt Obama would go after Bush. He'd be too scared of the *tit for tat* nature of the Repukes. One word -- REZKO.

nice fairy tale though. :sarcasm:

widespread corruption, at least in the hundreds of billions of dollars. But what's a few/several hundred billion dollars today considering the falling purchasing power of the dollar? :D

Edited to eliminate double negative

14. They Don't Need To...Conyers And Waxman Do...
There are a ton of investigations still hanging out there...and most won't go away after 1-20-09. Having more Democrats in the House and Senate and a Democrat in the White House will sure make their jobs easier. You won't have the executive privilidge crap, no ability for this regime to pardon and a country lifted out of the booooosh morass and wanting answers to how things got so fucked up.

It's not up to Clinton or Obama to discuss this...they will have their hands full with plenty of other messes to clean up...getting our troops out of Iraq, fixing a destroyed economy, restoring international relations...but the criminality of this regime will be an ongoing process that will play on for years.

One thing for certain...with a Democrat in the White House, we won't see a politicized DOJ...and I suspect a rejuvenated one that will be intent on restoring its independence and going after those who did abuse power.

Ultimate the real justice this regime deserves will be in the courts...where their criminality will be on trial, not in the political arena.

22. The whole republican party has been part of the Bush corruption..
don't forget they used RNC computer servers for their shenanigans. This shit goes deep. If there are meaningful investigations, probably lots of people will go to jail.

Democratic nominee should read a laundry list of BFEE scandals and link McCain to them.

17. No attacks on the US since 9-11? What about the anthrax attacks?
You remember, John. Five dead, several others injured, countless more terrorized for weeks? I'm sure the victims of the POST-9-11 anthrax attacks and their families would love to credit Bush** for the way he shut down the investigation, leaving the case unsolved and the terrorist(s) behind it free to this day.

"I do not agree with your sentiment that there has been widespread corruption. I just don't accept that."

That is just an absurd statement. Anyone who has read a newspaper or watched TV or listened to the radio for even just a few minutes over the last seven years would know how ridiculous a statement that is. I think I'll bookmark it. No doubt in my mind there will be many occasions to refer to it in the coming months.

America since 9-11?"

What about the unsolved attacks by way of the US mail? Bush hasn't caught Osama or the Anthrax killers. McCain is making up his own GOP style "REALITY" as he goes along like the Bush Gang. Just another Lying Liar!

31. Of course not - it's a Republican commandment
Thou shalt not investigate another Republican for crimes.

And if thou accidentally didst so, then thou shalt find the Republican innocent in a fixed court trial.

And, when all else fails, thou shalt pardon the Republican ere any actual punishment shouldst take place.
