Kucinich WINS Congressional Primary
Back home, Kucinich captures nomination again
By JULIE CARR SMYTH AP Statehouse Correspondent

Published on Wednesday Mar 05, 2008

Dennis Kucinich may not be a presidential contender, but he is still a winner among his Cleveland constituents.

The liberal Ohio politician won 50 percent the vote in a five-way Democratic congressional primary Tuesday, beating back critics who said he ignored business at home to travel the country in his quest to be president.

The six-term incumbent, 61, will face former state Rep. Jim Trakas, who won 80 percent of Republican votes cast in the northeast Ohio district. He joins a parade of incumbents, returning challengers and state lawmakers who head into November's election following Tuesday victories.

Among them are two Iraq War veterans _ state Sens. John Boccieri, a Democrat, and Steve Stivers, a Republican _ who hope to win contests among three open U.S. House seats vacated by veteran Republicans after Democrats took congressional control in 2006. With 100 percent of precincts reporting, Boccieri had 64 percent of the Democratic vote in the northeast Ohio district held by Ralph Regula, and Stivers had 66 percent of the GOP vote in the central Ohio district held by Deborah Pryce.

6. Loser...
From Dictionary.com

1. a person, team, nation, etc., that loses: The visiting team was the loser in the series.
2. Informal. a. a person who has been convicted of a misdemeanor or, esp., a felony: a two-time loser.
b. a person who has failed at a particular activity: a loser at marriage.
c. someone or something that is marked by consistently or thoroughly bad quality, performance, etc.: Don't bother to see that film, it's a real loser.

3. Slang. a misfit, esp. someone who has never or seldom been successful at a job, personal relationship, etc.

Doesn't sound like Mr. Kucinich is any of these things. He did what he had to do to help the nation. From Congress to the runs for the White House, he always kept the Nation and its people at the front.

Now Bush, on the other hand...well, that one is too easy, even for me.

7. Fantastic!! Just fantastic that we won by such a huge margin in a 5-way race.
Sanity, rationality, and decency won out over big moneyed-interests.

Bodes well for the nation!

8. Good News To Hear...
I've been critical of DK for how he's run his campaigns, but I'm glad to see he was able to win and do so in a convincing manner. Now let's get more Progressives elected to join him. A good start is helping out Bill Foster win Gym Teach Denny's old seat this Saturday.

14. Kucinich for Speaker of the House!
Kucinich is clearly the man we need leading the House of Representatives. No more blocked Impeachment, bring on the 9/11 Investigations...Help us at http://peacecandidates.com/discuss to elect Kucinich Democrats to the House who will cut the funding to Iraq, sign on to HR676 and vote for him as Speaker. The Dems will win the presidency, but we need Kucinich as speaker to bring real accountability.
