Did Bush just give McCain the kiss of death?
Edited on Wed Mar-05-08 01:40 PM by Cyrano
To many of us, getting an endorsement from Bush would be like getting an endorsement from Hitler.

But there was McCain just now, standing next to his hugging buddy, grinning through (no doubt) gritted teeth, and accepting the Fuhrer's endorsement on CNN, MSNBC, FAUX News and who knows where else.

However, given the attention span of the American public, I doubt if many will remember any of this by tomorrow.

After seven years of Hell, McCain gets an endorsement from the guy who has shoved our country into a bottomless crapper, but hardly anyone really cares.

So my personal answer to the above headline question is, No. These guys could eat live babies on live TV and it would quickly be yesterday's news.

I fear for my country when I recognize that most people either don't pay attention to politics, or are complete imbeciles.

So what's your take on this? Did Bush help McCain, hurt him, or not make one damned bit of difference?

3. Economy crashing,
in the end, will weigh more heavily on Americans come November than anything else, Iraq included, though Iraq and the economy are one and the same.

I vote for the kiss of death. And I'd expect the Democratic candidate to make good use of that photo-op this morning.

5. Sadly, most people aren't paying attention. They've
never seen the infamous pic of McCain giving chimp a bear hug, and would shrug it off if you tried to show it to them.

McCain will get a hell of a lot of votes from people who don't want to see a woman or a black man (depending on who we nominate) in the WH. They know nothing about the issues and don't want to know.

This election will turn on whether the Dems can get the base motivated enough to overcome the racism/sexism and ignorance that's going to be rampant on the other side.
