The sign even says so...

High gas prices posted at a Shell gas station in Redwood City, Calif., Wednesday, March 5, 2008. Oil surged Wednesday, rising a remarkable $5 a barrel to a new record over $104 a barrel after the government reported a surprise drop in crude oil stockpiles and OPEC held production levels steady.

I wonder if * is aware of $4.00 a gallon yet.

2. Nice picture
As for GW knowing...of course he does!

Iraq oil reserves:

115 billion barrels

x $104
-------------------
$11,960,000,000,000

That's a tidy sum after you ripped off nearly 5 trillion from the treasury already. Ever wonder why he smirks all the time?

3. Over here, we're aware of this:

This is Euros per liter, which translates out to $8.55 per US gallon for normal
lead-free, and $8.61 per US gallon for premium lead-free.

No wonder the prices make a photographer dizzy!

5. Somebody finally told him, but he's already forgotten all about it
After all, if it doesn't affect his immediate comfort, it's not important.

Sadly, he's got a Congress full of men just like him.

6. Not hellish at all if you lived close to where you work and shop
Like if you were one of those loons that thinks a good way to protest oil wars is to avoid consuming oil.
