From: Leopolds Ghost Citizen, (Address snipped)
As elected officials,
It is your responsibility to follow and uphold the Constitution in every respect against enemies domestic and foreign. The Constitution, in the 4th Amendment (which has never been repealed) specifies how this is to be done.
Any politician or citizen who without warrant, without due and CONSTITUTIONAL process of law,
without prior grounds for suspicion under Anglo-American system of jurisprudence, spies on another citizen of the United States in any form of protected communications is a criminal and an enemy of the constitution and the US system of governance.
Especially if such action is taken under color of law, and with the stated intent of shielding your employer (the US Government) and its contractors from civil or criminal liability by declaring the grounds for legal standing under ANY constitutional challenge to your constitutionally illegal act, priveliged by national security and thus denied innocent US Citizens (whom the members of your committee themselves admit exist and have been injured by this program.)
You cannot justify the existence of this program, much less immunize your business associates and telecom advisors against it, without resorting to state privilege that explicitly (throught the act of asserting privilege guarding againsty the truth of the matter) implies that the intent of the program is to render domestic wiretapping of average American citizens unprosecutable.
On a lighter note, it would be interesting to know what ethical standards are being employed by yourself and the honorable members of this committee to protect the personal info (address, etc.) of citizens such as myself, thus required/expected to be produced, from being misused, e.g. for fundraising robo-calls, in the spirit of FISA reform (whose stated intent is to make the records of American citizens more easily accessible in the due course of implementing dragnets for terrorism, and a whole laundry list of future federal objectives that Congress deigns to take an interest in, not to include abuse in the Executive branch, of course.)
Sincerely,
(Leopolds Ghost)
