Dear Leader says he likes to read books when he takes his August vacation. The conventional wisdom on DU is that Bush can't read at all, but he says he likes to read books.
Like, for instance, the first year he was in office he was entranced by that million-seller, "Stihl MS270 Chain Saw Owner's Manual." And a couple years ago he read a book all about salt.
This is the last year he can vacation on our dime. After that, he'll have to get a real job. Let's be nice to the village idiot, and help him choose some great books he's never read to see him through a long, balmy August in the armpit of the universe.
My choices:
United States Signals Intelligence Directive 18. This fairly thin, very quick read has one message: it is illegal to use the NSA to spy on Americans.
http://cryptome.org/nsa-ussid18.htmUS Army Field Manual 27-10, "The Law of Land Warfare." Says, among other things, that you can't torture the enemy for any reason.
Manual for Courts-Martial, with Articles 93 (cruelty and maltreatment) and 99 (misconduct before the enemy) highlighted.
"How to Survive Prison" by David Allan Coe
