Reporters no longer interested in traveling with Rice
http://thinkprogress.org/2008/03/06/reporters-no-longer-interested-in-traveling-with-rice/

Reporters no longer interested in traveling with Rice.

In 2005, an “unprecedented 19 reporters” accompanied Condoleezza Rice on her first trip overseas as Secretary of State. Now, however, things have changed. The Washington Post reports that “vastly fewer reporters” joined Rice on her latest trip to the Middle East:

The three wire services–Associated Press, Reuters and Agence-France Presse–are on board. Bloomberg News and National Public Radio took seats. But only three newspapers–The New York Times, The Washington Post and The Washington Times–are on the plane, down from the standard five. And the networks did not even bother to send a camera crew, let alone a correspondent.

The media began losing interest in Rice last year. In mid-2007, every single major newspaper turned down an op-ed by Rice on Lebanon and in September, CBS and NBC declined a White House offer to have Rice appear on their Sunday shows.

2. They're falling out of love with her?
Holy cow - I remember when they'd gush about her and that Canadian guy, and her in those black leather boots, and all the rest of it. How the worm is turning. And it couldn't happen to a skankier little worm. BYE, contradicta. Besides, she doesn't make any news or do anything of significance except botch the job again and again, or fail to close the deal again and again. Maybe they're really trying to save her from her own reputation.

4. Trump was right, she never does close a deal.
boosh and condi are always given the menial, PR busy work. With neocons, it's not about actually doing something, it's only about LOOKING like you are doing something. Meanwhile, the backroom deals to enrich themselves are carried out by the adults.

3. I'm not surprised -- whatever HAPPENS on these trips she takes?
Edited on Thu Mar-06-08 04:37 PM by LSparkle
As Donald Trump said fairly recently, all she does is
fly in, smile as she's getting off the plane, sit at a
table, more smiles, then she comes home without any
agreements or diplomatic progress ... If I were a
reporter, I'd be fucking BORED -- it's "Groundhog
Day" ...

6. The MSM has served it's purpose
They helped the regime start two wars and destroy everything America stood for. There is no longer a need for them to tag along as Cindasleazy shops the world on our dime.

9. They're all covering the primaries!
That's where the real news is!

I'm surprised the Middle Eastern leaders don't just laugh in her face. Why does she even bother going? To look like she's doing something, when the rest of the world is probably anticipating 1/20/09 as much as we are?
