I need the help of any labor knowledgeable persons here at DU
Edited on Fri Mar-07-08 01:50 AM by angstlessk
I started a business in 1997 and a friend happened upon my new business and I set him up....and I also tested for him in order for him to get his class a contractors license...he still is using the same license.

Fast forward: a certain developer used my company (me) to set up and maintain his books..yet when I attempted to put an employee in to input the information he refused to have anyone but ME, the president of the company, even look at his books...turns out he became my ONLY client.

Being away from the office and not in control of what was going on, my jealous boyfriend kicked out all my clients and fired my assistants CAUSE I WAS NOT THERE....

The developer became my ONLY 'client'...FUCK THAT.....HE HAD AN EMPLOYEE SANS TAXES...and NOW..he hired his best friends wife to take my place...

DO I HAVE RECOURSE???

PS..I TOOK THE DEVELOPERS REAL ESTATE LICENSE TEST FOR THAT DEVELOPER TOO!!!!! and passed! only he got the license!!! and I got screwed!

3. Honestly, it sounds like you committed fraud twice
and I also tested for him in order for him to get his class a contractors license

TOOK THE DEVELOPERS REAL ESTATE LICENSE TEST FOR THAT DEVELOPER TOO!!!!!

The lesson: don't take licensure tests for other people. The fault, dear Brutus, lies not in our stars but in ourselves.

6. *shrug* I wish I had good advice for you
The nuclear option, I'm guessing, would be to go before whatever body accredits the licensing exams and come clean.

On the plus side, you seem bright and skilled, since you've passed the exams already. A good option might be to cut your losses, re-certify yourself (making sure you get the licenses this time), and run a better company than them.

7. I agree
that you committed fraud twice. Uou took the test "as his secretary". You were not an employee of the company. You were an outside contractor. He was your CLIENT. Why should you have any recourse for losing a client?

Dump your boyfriend.

Keep boyfriends out of your business matters.

Get some ethics.

9. I was the secretary of the corporation not his 'secretary'
one can be the secretary of a corporation who is one's client.. and dear I have ethics, there was no way anyone could be harmed by what I have done EVAH. Both men were well qualified with years of work in their field so it is not a matter of cheating the public by installing incompetents into position.
