Tim Lahay - Mike Malloy talking about this evangelist

He's the guy that wrote the "Left Behind" series. He's really into the idea of the "rapture," and has lots of convoluted ideas about Jews and Israel.

Malloy admonishing us to watch these kind of people.

Too bad the left wasn't aware of this brand of christianity 35 years ago or so. These people have been around forever and there are generations of believers that have been basically brainwashed.

It's an ugly business, but I lived in fear of the earth ending or some calamity because of them when I was a kid.

1. LaHaye is one of RevMoon's longtime allies. They go back at least 3 decades.
Moon poured alot of money into LaHaye in the late 70s and early 80s.

2. It's not just that they're around....
these brainwashed people started a concerted effort years ago to take over the American political power structure, and they're succeeding.

8. I think these overzealous Christians may be more dangerous
than any Al-Quaida cell in the US.

They are more dangerous because they can dress, behave and look more like an "average" White-Anglo-Saxon-Protestant and therefore slip past lax security.

6. His wife runs a religious right front group. "Concerned Women for America"
Other than her, most of the top brass (including the spokesperson) are of the outdoor plumbing variety.

Weird thing: both of them are quite homophobic in their pronouncements, and CWA regularly issues really homophobic bile, but their son Lee is openly gay and is the CFO of Concerned Women for America. The cognitive dissonance could keep a shrink in sports cars for decades.

11. Looks like your childhood fears are coming true.
I'm a Christian, and as such believe in the Rapture as part of my faith. However, I realize that it will happen on God's schedule and not man's, and I will thus not spend my life cowering behind the window obsessing on it. Que sera, sera.

Living a life of faith takes a lot more than blindly following madmen- we were given free will for a reason. We're expected to use our own eyes, our own ears, and our own minds to discern truth.

Besides, that series of books sucks- Tim Lahay is an incredibly horrible "writer". Kinda reminds me of Hubbard...
