it's official - the united states of Torture
Bush Vetoes Bill That Would Limit Interrogations

WASHINGTON — President Bush on Saturday further cemented his legacy of fighting for strong executive powers, using his veto to shut down a congressional effort to limit the Central Intelligence Agency’s latitude to subject terrorism suspects to harsh interrogation techniques that are prohibited by the military and law enforcement agencies.

Mr. Bush vetoed a bill that would have explicitly prohibited the agency from using such interrogation methods, which include waterboarding, a technique in which restrained prisoners are threatened with drowning and that has been the subject of intense criticism at home and abroad.

Mr. Bush’s veto deepens his battle with increasingly assertive Democrats in Congress over issues at the heart of his legacy. As his presidency winds down, he has made it clear he does not intend to bend in this or other confrontations with Congress on issues from the war in Iraq to contempt charges against his chief of staff, Joshua B. Bolten, and former counsel, Harriet E. Miers.

3. the veto also allows for all aspects of torture
Bill would also ban beating, electrocuting, burning, using dogs
Also would ban stripping detainees, forcing them to perform or mimic sexual acts

so, i would assume bu$h* declares all of the above legal too

7.  absolutely nothing like this surprises me at all
Take a good look around at this hell hole of a country we are living in since bush rode in with his endless stream of murderous freaks .

Just about everything is completely fucked up without a thing left now to fix it .

And people think we are going to have elections or if this does happen that one damn thing will change .

I just want it over , let nov 09 get here so people can decide which way they can go to hope to survive this utter hopeless disaster .

If I never hear the names Hillary or Obama ever again it will be too damn soon .

I don't want to hear stupid insane days titled super tuesday or black friday ever again either .

11. I with you blues...
I simply cant believe the cast of characters who have been allowed to tear this nation apart. The creepy, incompetent, sick fucks who infest the white house should ALL BE ARRESTED and thrown in jail for the rest of the miserable lives and yet they continue to drag this nation down into sewage and muck.

When will this shit end...Bush/Cheney are on a scorched earth march to finish the job of turning America into the worlds most feared terrorist nation as we all argue over Obama and Clinton. There are no words to convey the disgust and loathing I have for American leaders and what they have allowed to happen these last 8 years.

12. Absolutely , and ALLOW is the key word
This is where I part way's with many here when it comes to political view points . To me these elections are nothing more than another time of mass distraction and this time there are going to be three years of this if you count the year before 2006 midterms .

If anyone looks back to the primaries running up to nov of 2004 you will find almost the exact same game plans . Everyone was speculation and counting their eggs before they hatched . It was said back then that bush had no chance of winning a second term because the people wanted him out and yet the Dems killed themselves again and bush got in , surprise !

Whne I read that people are waking up which is the same thing I heard before 2004 with the only difference being there were more people who felt bush was doing a good job percentage wise .

I question this same thing today . I question what it really is that people claim people are coming out of the ether and waking up .

It has to be more than anything else that the bush supporters have in one way or the other been personally affected by the madness spread out by the bush admin , it's not because they grew a conscience .

I say to these who voted for bush once or worse , twice I have no sympathy for them and I do not want them on my side . If it took 7 years for them to wake up then they are a bit late now , look at what they allowed by being so greedy and ignorant , you can't take that back and walk away .

A very simple fact remains , they were all for bombing Iraq out of ignorant fear , they were willing to let this happen let alone praised it and desired it with the mind set of somehow saving themselves by murdering innocent people without ever questioning the reality of the fear they held onto .

Now here we are once again blinded with all the political hype and people think these politicians are somehow out of the loop , I for one will never buy that they are not all in the know and on the same team , it's all theater . No one has ever come up with a valid reason why Pelosi will not demand impeachment other than to let her say it will stop them from doing more important work , and just what might that be , confirming more freaks like the new AG ?

People are still in the ether , it's just a different chemical makeup of ether .

9. Maybe if Bush baby was forced
to take a test-drive through some of these interrogation methods he wouldn't be so quick to condone
them. He's just a weak willed dip shit who never even put in his proper time serving in uniform.

And he's dumb too.

10. Delahunt Should Have Finished His Sentence
{H}e said. “My view is history is going to judge us all.”

... HARSHLY ... is the word you're looking for there you impeachophobic firewall for war criminals.

Yes, history judges those who aide and abet war criminals harshly. Imagine that. What an insight.

That's what cowering in a strategeric corner, terrified of being called "soft on terror" gets you. A one-way ticket to historical infamy.

Won't the grandchildren be proud.
