Even at this late date, even with a gut-wrenching, America-sinking war for no reason and with negative results at huge expense...even with that, the point that George W. Bush super-charged Al Qaeda and all American enemies seems not only debatable, but outrageous. That Bush has been good for America's enemies and bad for America should be a commonplace fact of life, an established, obvious conclusive fact. It should be in the Britannica next to the Law of Gravity.
But no, today's HuffPo has a front page where some GOP jerk says Al Qaeda will be dancing in the streets if Obama is elected. Damn it. The GOP leadership should be in hiding from an overwhelming political lynch mob, but instead they act like they are in the driver's seat. And the act works!
My greatest disappointment in the Dems and all of the incompetent rhetoricians on our side is that no one has the guts and the words to get the American people to look at themselves under Bush and see what has happened to them. Spiritually and intellectually emaciated, face a mangled, bloodied snarl, teeth gone, lungs cancered, skin encrusted with parasites...
And our enemies, healthy and smiling, bless the day George W. Bush took office. If ever there is a global Islamic Caliphate, it will celebrate George W. Bush's birthday above all other holy days. George W. Bush, they will say, was chosen by Allah to lead America to its destruction.
