Daylight Saving Time: Is your DU clock displaying the correct time?
Mine was off by two hours after Midnight, and now it is off by one hour (Central Time Zone). Is anyone else having the same problem in their time zone?

3. Mine's off by an hour.
The early time change is a mere nefarious Republican plot to muck up astrological calculations for years to come.

I swear it is.

7. In order to see the DST-adjusted time-stamps on DU (for my posts and others) ...
Edited on Sun Mar-09-08 12:09 PM by TahitiNut
... I adjusted my "Preferences" to reflect a Time Zone to the east of me rather that the one I'm in (EDT). I assume that's due to the server's failure to incorporate the DST offset.

(Yes... I've reset ALL the clocks in my home and on my system.)

10. Are you sure? Does the time-stamp on your post say "12:11 pm" to YOU?
Edited on Sun Mar-09-08 12:15 PM by TahitiNut
If not, then DU isn't reflecting your DST adjustment.

41. OK ... let's compare what the homepage says for each of us...
For me, the DU Home page says: "Sun 09th Mar 2008, 05:53 PM (Canada/Atlantic Canada)"

While the date and time are correct and match my local time, the timezone is incorrect because I had to change it in my Preferences in order to get the timestamp correctly displayed.

What does it say for you? Is the time correct as well as the parenthesized timezone??

22. You don't. You have a *choice* in how the timestamps are presented to you.
Edited on Sun Mar-09-08 02:22 PM by TahitiNut
DU software presents the timestamps to you (and each of us) according to how YOUR "Preferences" are set. The server/sofware *should* make the one-hour adjustment for DST but apparently does not or has not. Therefore, an offsetting change apparently needs to be made to cause that presentation of timestamps to match your local time.

As an example, I'm in the Eastern Time Zone and in an area that chooses DST. The DU server/software makes a 5-hour adjustment (from GMT) for EST, NOT a 4-hour adjustment (from GMT) for EDT. Thus, I changed my 'Preferences' to the Atlantic Time Zone which *IS* a 4-hour difference from GMT.

Make sense?

Remember, EDT = AST = GMT-4 ... and ... PDT = MST = GMT-7. The Daylight Time for any timezone is the same as the Standard Time of the timezone to the east of you.

26. Well, I want mine on a bed of spinach.
lol

I do have my prefs set for my time zone and the software gods are not liking it.

Fine with me. I never made the last adjustment myself. Finally the rest of DU is on my clock. :silly:
