Are we finally at the point where Americans realize that oversight and regulation is a GOOD thing?
That protects them from:

Predatory lending

wholesale fraud

and insures and protects the saftey and security of the entire financial system?

When people are denied insurance coverage for healthcare they are supposed to be covered for or repairs or replacement to their houses that they are supposed to be covered for - do they get MAD?

Do they get MAD when their pets are poisoned and killed and their children's car seats act like James Bond ejector seats?

Do they realize that we have the most expensive, least accessible, least efficient healthcare of comparable nations?

Do they realize finally that Grover Norquist didn't want to drown GOVERNMENT in the bathtub, he wanted to drown SANITY in the bathtub?

there is a saying which holds very true:

Americans are biggest BS'ers and the easiest to BS. Yes, we have been BS'd by * and they are laughing at us all the way to the oil fields. Doesn't this get anyone angry??? that we have been so played like this?

5. Not yet.....
.. even most people here don't understand just how bad things are right now because the effects have not YET trickled down.

But, within a few months, a year at most, there will be a sea change in the way Americans view economics, regulation, and the f*cking Republican party that brought on all this disaster.

That's about the only good thing that will come of it.

6. well I am sure a capitalist and think it is great BUT
it needs to have some one watch over it. This is a great system and has brought great things to the world but with out over sight we would be the same as the 'royals' or 'church' handing out their deals once more.

8. 'Course not. freemarket freemarket freemarket
We just need to keep saying freemarket freemarket freemarket, over and over again.
Like a mantra.
Look how great deregulation has worked for banks, airlines, media, utilities, etc.
:sarcasm:
