Wanna get ratings for your TV show? Throw in sex...or one of the other deadly sins. If you come up with mysogny with murder with sex, you have a ratings killer...literally. Nothing gets the corporate media chruning than a good sex scandal...the moralism and indignation is poured on and the shame machine goes into full tilt. Now we'll find out more about Spitzer than most of us will ever want to know and a parade of spinners and pundits who will gladly tell us why he did it and what he should do. In short, the feeding frenzy has begun.

I'm tired of hearing all these talking heads say how "shocked" they are about this. Hell, it's another day at the office and in the backrooms, their bosses are looking at how many ways they can milk this thing. There's sizzle here...titilation and a narrative and drill the corporate media has used over and over.

Unlike a serious crime like embezzling or illegal wiretapping or starting wars for profit, a sex scandal is easy to get out and is sure to get attention. The chum in in the water...
