If Spitzer is a "victim" of Bush's domestic spying operation?
How do we find out? And which Democrat will be next? Does anyone now think that this Administration is not spying on his political enemies?

If Spitzer resigns, it will all be swept under the rug and we will never find out the truth, I fear. These folks make J. Edgar Hoover look like a rookie. They got a big catch. And there are more. They are listening to their phone calls. They are reading their emails. They are checking their bank records. If the Congress and the American people are not concerned about this, then they are fools.

I really don't care if Spitzer resigns. He is a hypocrite. That is the small picture. The big picture is much more alarming.

1. It appears that banks reported suspicious cash transactions involving Spitzer's accounts
to the IRS, which thought he was involved in some public corruption.

6. Which came first: the bank reports or tips they got from illegal wiretaps?

7. I think the IRS started it. What made the wiretaps illegal? Were there warrants?

8. Question: How many similar transactions go uninvestigated?
And remember: All the "shell company" information (officially) came out AFTER the initial call for investigation.

4. No, he's a "victim" of court-ordered wiretaps that he heavily supported.

12. The same way?
With the FBI? With bank records? Or was it his war on Wall Street and the big shots that got him on the hit list?

13. I Think It's a Little Of Both
And hate to say it, but, a little hoisted on his own petard - wasn't Spitzer a fan of increased and easier wiretaps, himself?

Maybe this will help those scales fall from his eyes a little.

I feel bad for his family, I think prostitution ought to be legal, and I suspect he had needs most women aren't into. But I also think that for all the important work he did as attorney general, he's a steaming asshole for thinking he was above getting caught at this.

I'd like to see him a) cut a deal to stay out of prison and keep his ability to practice law, b) resign, c) go after the BFEE. I don't have much doubt there is some political motivation at play.
